In light of current financial turmoil readers may wish to follow in real time, or to study historical trends on, the widely quoted Dow Jones Industrial Average - the longest recorded of major US share price indices. The internet makes this easily possible and Google Finance provides an excellent free facility to do so at Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Google Finance provides a similar facility for the wider based US Standard and Poors 500 at Standard and Poors 500.
Figures for the FTSE 100, published with a 20 minute delay, are provided by Google Finance at FTSE 100.
